TRADITIONAL RULER CALLS FOR PEACE AMIDST COURT RULING

The Traditional Ruler of Okpogho Community, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State; HRH Igwe Dr. Chimereze L. Pius has called for peace across the villages of Okpogho Kingdom. This is coming after some members of the community took to their social media and various quarters of the community to express their dissatisfaction over the judgment of the court on the authenticity of his election which was held in 2012.

The judgment which directed that a fresh election be conducted amongst the three(3) contestants by the Town Union was received by many in a no-good light.

However, the peaceful Royal Father has advocated for calm as the judgment is not a death sentence. He further stated that the judgment should not be misinterpreted, as none of his opponents was declared the Traditional Ruler of Okpogho Kingdom until a fresh election goes against him. “I appreciate all the love and solidarity. We have always won, and we will win again,” he said.

He has also advised online bloggers not to be a tool for the publication of unverified, half-baked, or defamatory information.
